Season of the Open Season - June 2020

Isaiah 43:19 (NIV)

See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?

I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Today is the season of the open season because I want to tell you today that I'm declaring open season on some things that need to change and be changed and be renewed.

I'm telling you it's open season on the visions I've given you and open season on the dreams I've given you and the promises that you've got squirreled away in the dark wondering if they'll ever see the light of day. It's time to look up because the Son is rising up. If there are things that you've buried and left for dead when I never said they were, you better dig them up and start breathing on them again.

It's open season for you if you've been looking for me and haven't been able to find me. I want to tell you today that I'm about to be found by you. Ready or not, here I come.

It's open season today on your enemies and all the things that are pursuing you and distracting you and keeping you from really following me. I want to tell you today that I am hot on the heels of the things that have been dragging you down for so long that you simply have not been able to shake or simply have not been willing to walk away from. What you haven't been able to do on your own I will most certainly do with you on your behalf. But if you really want to finish the fight for good, it's going to get messy.

It's open season on the things that have gotten between us and the things that have gotten in your way and have gotten in my way. There are structures you've created that I had nothing to do with; it's been grace that I've inhabited them, not my stamp of approval. Some of them need to be torn down before they fall down. I've got the blueprints you've been searching for to build the things that you've been longing for, but you'll never do it without me.

It's open season on the things that you've not done, or left undone, or refused to do out of pride or simply because you were too afraid. If you'll relent and do them now, I want to tell you I will work a wonder on your behalf that will change the landscape and circumstances in a way that you would never imagine. Just do it. I double dare you.

It's open season for a season. Will you believe me for what I've dreamed about, and be found by me again, and fight with me for the freedom you've longed for, and tear down to make way for what I'll help you build, and do the very thing you've believed you could never do?

I'm declaring open season. What are you going to do about it?
